Why join us? We are hiring! Atkins seeks a Sr. ITS Traffic Engineer to join our team in Calverton, MD. This role will be primarily supporting the technical traffic lead for an established, large project in the Washington, DC area. How will you contribute to the team? Carries out complex assignments requiring Traffic and ITS diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad area of assignments. Works requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, and practices. Perform ITS/Traffic Engineering and design assignments of a varied nature. Familiarity with railroad crossing safety, train and traffic interfaces. Ensure work produced is technically accurate and delivered in accordance with the appropriate standards. Coordinate with internal project staff, subconsultants, and clients. Positive and practical with experience of managing resources, mentoring, and inspiring teams to exceed client expectations. What will you contribute? B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred. This level may be achieved by Engineers with seven years of experience since B.S. or six years since M.S. Typical incumbent has ten to fourteen years of experience. Experience with Maryland State Highway Administration engineering guidelines. P.E. license is required. Certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license a plus. Technical writing, computer and communications skills required. AutoCAD or MicroStation experience required. Familiar with Adobe Acrobat Professional. $150K -- $200K
